Inverclyde Culture Collective is seeking an experienced videographer & editor to document our creative activity across Inverclyde from October 2026–October 2027.
The aim of the commission is to create a consistent, high-quality visual record of the programme, capturing the range of creative activity taking place and the experiences of the artists, participants and communities involved.
The videographer will attend approximately 14 filming sessions across the programme. These will take place in a range of community settings across Inverclyde, with dates and times agreed in advance and spread across the 12-month period.
Filming will focus on capturing activity as it happens, alongside short interviews and conversations with artists, participants and project partners where appropriate. The videographer will also capture a small selection of high-quality still images alongside filming, providing five images for each project. The content will be used to promote Inverclyde Culture Collective and create engaging content that can be shared throughout the programme. Content will be used across the Culture Collective website, social media and wider communications, helping to increase awareness of the programme and demonstrate its activity, reach and impact.
The commission will include editing and post-production following each filming session, creating short-form content suitable for digital and social media use. The videographer will also create an overall programme showreel, which will be developed and updated throughout the commission as new activity is captured.
The videographer will work closely with the ICC Project Manager, who will produce the content required for each shoot, including contributors, interviews and key areas of focus. The role is therefore primarily focused on filming and post-production rather than developing or producing the content.
We are looking for someone who can create warm, engaging and visually strong content suitable for social media, websites and wider programme promotion. Experience filming participatory, community or arts activity would be particularly welcome.
The commission has been calculated as 14 days of work, delivered flexibly over a 12-month period. This includThe videographer will be expected to:
Attend and film 14 agreed participatory arts sessions across Inverclyde over the 12-month commission.
Capture high-quality footage that reflects the range of creative activity taking place and the experiences of participating artists, participants, communities and project partners.
Produce one 45–60 second film/Reel for each project, incorporating short interviews and soundbites where appropriate.
Produce an additional 2–3 pieces of short-form video content per project, where appropriate, drawing on footage and interviews captured during filming sessions. This may include artists and participants reflecting on their experience of the programme, their creative practice and working in Inverclyde.
Capture and supply five high-quality still images per project alongside scheduled video filming, suitable for use across social media, websites and programme communications.
Create an initial approximately two-minute Inverclyde Culture Collective showreel, incorporating new and existing programme footage where appropriate.
Update and develop the showreel throughout the commission as new activity is captured, resulting in a final film that represents the breadth of the programme.
Ensure all finished content is professionally edited and supplied in appropriate formats for digital, social media and promotional use.
Work closely with the ICC Project Manager who will produce each shoot and ensure content is delivered within agreed timescales.
ESSENTIAL PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Professional experience in videography, filming and editing, with a strong portfolio of relevant work.
Experience creating engaging short-form video content suitable for social media and digital platforms.
Strong filming and post-production skills, including editing, sound and colour correction.The ability to capture high-quality still images alongside video filming.
Confidence filming interviews and capturing clear, high-quality audio.
The ability to work sensitively and confidently with a range of people, including participants who may have little or no experience of being filmed.
Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the ICC Project Manager, artists and project partners.
The ability to work independently, manage time effectively and deliver finished content within agreed timescales.
Access to their own professional filming and audio equipment suitable for delivering the commission.
Availability to work flexibly across Inverclyde over the 12-month commission period, typically required for 1 3.5 hour shoot per month with editing and post production done remotely.A proactive approach to health and safety, with the ability to work safely and responsibly across a range of community, cultural and outdoor settings.
An understanding of appropriate professional conduct when working with children, young people and vulnerable adults, and a commitment to working in accordance with Inverclyde Culture Collective partners’ safeguarding, equalities and relevant organisational policies.
Appropriate Public Liability Insurance for the duration of the commission.
Willingness to undertake any appropriate safeguarding or PVG requirements associated with the commission, where required.

ENGAGEMENT TIMELINE
The commission will run from 26 October 2026 to October 2027, with filming and post-production delivered flexibly across the 12-month period.
26 October 2026 – Commission begins
The successful applicant will meet with the ICC Project Manager to agree the approach, review existing/archive footage and confirm initial filming requirements.
26 October–2 November 2026 – Initial showreel and filming
The initial priority will be the creation of an approximately two-minute Inverclyde Culture Collective showreel, primarily using existing/archive programme footage. Where feasible, the videographer may also attend initial project activity during this period, with new footage incorporated into the showreel where timescales allow.
2 November 2026 – Initial showreel delivered
Delivery of the initial approximately two-minute Inverclyde Culture Collective showreel.
November 2026–October 2027 – Ongoing filming and content delivery
Approximately 14 filming sessions will take place across the commission in total, averaging around one filming session per month. Individual filming sessions are expected to last approximately 3–4 hours, including set-up.
The schedule will vary in line with project activity, meaning some months may involve more than one filming session while others may involve none. Dates will be agreed in advance wherever possible. Editing and post-production will be completed flexibly around filming dates, including delivery of agreed short-form content, still images and ongoing development of the programme showreel.
October 2027 – Commission completion
Final filming, completion of the programme showreel and delivery of any outstanding agreed content and assets.
FEE
The total fixed fee for the commission is £5,129.60.
The fee has been calculated based on 14 days of work at the Scottish Artists Union 5+ years’ experience rate of £366.40 per 8-hour day.
The 14 days will be worked flexibly across the 12-month commission and will not generally be delivered as full-day blocks. The fee covers:
Approximately 14 filming sessions, typically lasting 3.5 hours including set-up.
Editing and post-production associated with filming sessions.
Production of agreed short-form films/Reels and still images.
Creation of the initial approximately two-minute programme showreel.
Ongoing development and final completion of the programme showreel.
The fixed fee is inclusive of the successful applicant’s own professional filming, audio and post-production equipment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a freelance contract; the applicant is responsible for paying their own tax and NI contributions. Sick pay and holiday entitlement do not apply.
The successful applicant shall at all times act with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with the law from time to time in force including without limitation Health and Safety, Data Protection, Equalities and undertaking PVG checks where required by the law and the applicant shall obtain all necessary licenses and consents.
In the event of termination of the appointment, Inverclyde Culture Collective shall be entitled to all content including digital outputs and any other material and documentation created or prepared prior to the date of termination.

DECISIONS
All applications will be considered by a panel from Inverclyde Culture Collective Applications will be assessed on quality of ideas presented, not spelling, grammar or presentation so please don’t worry about the quality of any recordings or the camera skills.
Decisions will be informed by four criteria, each worth 25%:
Relevant experience and quality of previous work
Approach to delivering the brief
Experience and approach to working with participants and communities
Ability to manage and deliver the commission effectively
These criteria will be assessed through the four application questions and supporting examples of previous work.
Prior to commencement, the successful applicant may require to:
1. Proof of public liability and any other insurances requested; and
2. Undergo a PVG check
